Shadow Gods by RTG

Enter the mysterious world of Ancient Egypt with Shadow Gods by RTG / SpinLogic. This atmospheric slot takes you into a moonlit temple where Horus and Anubis guard hidden treasures. Alongside its Egyptian theme, the game offers expanding Wilds, a Coin Feature and two different Free Games options.

Shadow Gods uses 5 reels, 3 rows and 50 fixed paylines. Matching symbols must land consecutively from the leftmost reel to create a winning combination. The paytable features Horus, Anubis, the Snake Queen, Green Cobra and Scarab, along with traditional card symbols from 9 through A.

The two Egyptian gods are the game's most important symbols. Horus and Anubis are special Wilds, appearing on reels two and four respectively. When they land, they can expand to cover their entire reel. They substitute for regular symbols, but cannot replace Scatter or Coin symbols.

This expanding Wild mechanic can make a big difference to winning combinations. A Wild that covers a complete reel creates several additional positions that can help connect matching symbols across the surrounding reels.

Another major attraction is the Coin Feature. Landing six or more Eye of Ra Coins anywhere on the reels activates three Re-Spins. The Coins that triggered the feature remain locked in their positions while the other positions respin.

Whenever another Coin lands, it becomes locked and the counter resets to three Re-Spins. This gives you additional opportunities to fill more positions with valuable Coins. Each Coin can display a prize value or bonus, which is awarded when the feature finishes.

The ultimate target is to fill the available positions with Coins. Achieving a completely filled grid awards the Grand Bonus, making every additional Coin during the Re-Spins potentially important.

The Coin Feature can also appear during the game's Free Games, giving you another opportunity to collect Coin prizes while playing the bonus.

Landing three or more Egyptian Mask Scatters triggers the Free Games feature. However, Shadow Gods gives you a choice between two different bonus modes.

The first option is Wild Reels. This provides six Free Spins, with Horus and Anubis remaining on reels two and four. Their Wild abilities can therefore create additional winning opportunities throughout the feature.

The second option is Treasure Spins. This also provides six Free Spins, but Coins are held on reel five. Any additional Coins that appear during the bonus remain in place, giving you another chance to activate the Coin Feature and collect prizes.

Both Free Games modes can be retriggered. Landing another three or more Scatters during the bonus awards six additional Free Spins, allowing a successful feature to continue for longer.

The choice between the two modes adds an extra element to the bonus. Wild Reels concentrate on creating winning combinations with the powerful Egyptian Wilds, while Treasure Spins put more emphasis on Coins and the potential rewards from the Coin Feature.

The game's nighttime Egyptian setting also gives it a distinctive atmosphere. Pyramids, temple architecture and the imposing gods create a darker interpretation of the traditional Egyptian slot theme. The visuals work particularly well with the mysterious Shadow Gods name.

Overall, Shadow Gods offers more variety than a straightforward Egyptian-themed slot. Expanding Wilds can strengthen regular wins, while the Coin Feature provides a separate prize-collecting challenge. The choice between Wild Reels and Treasure Spins then gives the Free Games feature two distinctly different styles.

If you enjoy Egyptian mythology, expanding Wilds and locked Coin features, Shadow Gods by RTG / SpinLogic provides plenty of features to explore.
