I have thought of this question quite often. I think everything happens for a reason. I do say at times, "What a coincidence", so I guess I believe in that too. What a difficult question. I could roll this over in my mind for eons, and keep coming up with both answers.

I believe that everything that happens can be made meaningful and that people need to make meaning of things that happen in their lives. I don't know if that means things are coincidence or fated....I guess that means that we make meaning out of events in order to process them. I do believe that we are all spiritually connected on some level so that what you do does affect others...hmmm - am I even answering the question anymore?
I make reason out of things because that is the way I understand and interact with the world around me. But I don't think that means that everything happens according to a plan, I think if we figure out how to grow and learn from things, then they are meaningful and useful in our lives.
