(Just what exactly is two TURTLE Doves????) I never understood that

val The turtle dove is a dainty dove, smaller and darker than the collared dove and slightly larger than a blackbird. so two would be two of them, and if you mean what is their meaning in the song then i guess christians believe that in the song they represent the old and new testaments

Well, Paul, if you care to tell me what I would do with a whole passel of lords a-leaping; I can't imagine any practical use for them whatsoever. And don't be a scrooge, that's no fun!
