October 2009 Halloween Contest!! Winner Announced!!

One of my fondest Halloween memories is from the early 80's. I had just moved to the subdivision where my brother and his family lived. The whole neighborhood got together and had a carnival for the kids in the park. People set up their camping tents as booths for food and games. We put up a tent and I dressed up as a gypsy and used a foreign accent. I had a large, real crystal ball (doesn't everyone ) that I used to tell each child fortune. My sister-in-law knew all the kids since she had 3 herself and had lived there for many years. Before she brought each child in she would brief me on each one. I would then tell them a fortune using facts she had told me. Since none of the kids knew me they were shocked I was actually giving them facts about their lives. We started out with small kids but word got around there was a "real" fortune teller and I had teenagers and even a couple of adults come into my tent. I was the hit of the carnival that year.

My paents got divoced when i was 3, but i had a geat stepfathe who aised me, but my eal fathe always called me his halloween baby. I could neve understand why he called me that. since my bday was the 29th. until my mother told me i had a sister named karen who was put up for adoption when she was born, you guessed it she was born on the 31st. he was mixing us up i guess. happy bday karen love your brother steven

I have many great Halloween memories! The earliest memory was at the age of 3 dressed as a scarecrow. I had the straw hat, the flannel shirt stuffed with straw... the whole nine yards! That Halloween night, my mother took to my sister's school to see her in the school parade. Afterwards, she took me to Taco Bell (where she worked as a manager) so that her friends/co-workers can see my costume and give me treats. Then, my mother snapped a Polaroid picture of me standing in front of the front line counter at Taco Bell which we have til this day. It was almost 30 years ago, but I remembered it like it was yesterday.

My other favorite memory was going Trick-Or-Treating with my sister, brother, and some friends after school at the age of 5. I remember going to a Halloween party afterwards where we all breakdanced (it was 1984..LOL)!

WELL, I can't SAY THAT ITS MY FAVORITE MEMORY, BUT IT IS THE ONE THAT STANDS OUT OVER ALL THE OTHERS!!! WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO THE SCHOOL FOR OUR HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL. WE HAD JUST GOTTEN ALL OF OUR NEW COSTUMES AND STUFF FOR THE BOOTH WE WERE HELPING IN. WE WERE 1 BLOCK FROM THE SCHOOL AND A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL HAD STOLEN HER DADS CAR AND BROADSIDED US AND THREW US 45 FEET INTO A EUCALYPTUS TREE. I BROKE MY NOSE ON THE WINDSHIELD AND WAS KNOCKED OUT COLD AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE WITH BLOOD ALL OVER ME. MY GRANDMA WHO WAS DRIVING BROKE HER TEETH ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE MOTOR WAS through THE FIREWALL IN BETWEEN ME AND MY GRAM. WE WERE LUCKY TO HAVE LIVED.

MY FAVORITE MEMORY OF HALLOWEEN HAS TO BE WHEN MY SISTER FIXED MY BROTHER UP AS A WOMAN AND A MAN WAS FLIRTING WITH HIM AND ASKED HIM OUT. HA HA HA

well this isn't really a memory of mine..... but if i could have remembered it myself, this would be my pick for the worst halloween ever. LOL !!!!

it was 1971, October 31st, my very first halloween. i dont know what i was wearing, but my younger brother ruined it for me.
How?
by being born on what should have been my very 1st trick or treating.
and he has never stopped being a goblin! but i love him!

One of the scariest memories I have is when my husband put really ugly mask on himself and scare all the children who come for candies. His mask was so ugly, even I couldn`t look at him
Some of the youngest children were so scary they start to cry, so he has to unmask himself for them ..

I think one of the neatest memories I have of trick-or-treating, I must have been @ 9 yrs old and my brother was 11. First we deressed as hoboes, flannel shirts, bandanas and coal smeared on our faces, then when I got tired, my brother got cleaned up, put on one of my dresses and my mom's wig and went out to the same houses again.....what was funny is that alll the neighbors thought 'she' was our cousin!!!! We had great laughs about that for years!

Halloween was always fun when my kids were young and i took them trick & treating even in the snow

We used to play hide n seek in the graveyard...my whole family, gram, gramps, mom, dad, bro, sis, aunts, uncles, cousins...etc... It was a blast! Especially on a warm windy All Hallows Eve!

my favorite was with my grandson last year, we were going door to door , at one house someone was dressed as an old man hidding in a bush, he jumped out at us , i almost had a heart attack i even swore at him, my poor grandson started crying the man took his mask off he felt so bad.

Going to a Haunted House with two Hot chicks back in high school!!1

We got drunk beforehand, and after they adbucted me for some "howling"!! It was wild!!!

It was a cold autumn day in New York, and it was just starting to get dark. My seven year-old daughter was happy, and exictedly running around, just getting started with her trick-or-treating, and I knew I was in for a long evening. Just then, a neighbor came out of her house, and handed me a cup filled with brandy. It warmed me up, and suddenly I was as happy as my daughter. Strange story, because I'm really not a lush, but heck . . . it was fun!

Definitely the big bonfires, getting dressed up in scary costumes and the thrill of not knowing what surprises we might get when trick or treating
