Ellery Queen-Jim Hutton played him, also Loved Burke's law played by Gene Barry. Because Their mysteries to me were very interesting and unusual. Ellery Queen himself was very unusual IMO.

This is a hard question for me, it has changed so much. I like them all! Columbo, Mannix, (and yes, I remember Charlie Chan), Barretta, all of those mentioned (except maybe Inspector Gadget, didn't care too much for him). I remember Michael Douglas on "The Streets Of San Francisco", Joe Friday on Dragnet and Steve McGarrett on Hawaii 5 0. For quite a while I really liked Maulder on the X Files, then I moved to a the 3 Law & Order programs. Right now, my favorite is Special Agent Gibbs on NCIS.

I've always loved Temperance Brennan from the TV show "Bones". She does her "detecting" through science and has such a unique but loveable personality.
(and her relationship with her partner, Booth is hot!)
