Well mine was when my mother and me dressed my 12 year old brother (at the time) into a old lady. My mom got some big sized clothes. We stuck in pillows for his chest, stomach and butt. Put on a dress, a white wig and a hat and purse. Oh and gloves and makeup of course.
I have never seen anything so hysterical in my life! He pranced down the street with boobs bouncing and butt wiggling. Short and squat. I can't believe he really did that. I mean come on he was 12 and you know how they like to be big and macho. It was something I never will forget!!

My favorite Halloween story is I went into the hospital October 29th, 1978 thinking I was going to deliver my son on the 29th and that would have been a historical moment and made both of my boys on the same day. The doctors said no. but on Halloween the doctor at 6:30 am said Trick or Treat it is a boy ![]()

Mine has to be this: When my daughter was just 4, we were living in Florida and it was a warm but cloudy Trick-or-treat night. As we walked slowly from house to house, I realized the clouds were getting darker and told my daughter that if it began to rain, we would have to go back home.Sure enough, a short while later there began a slow sprinkling of rain. Just as I was ready to say that we had to return, she looked up at me, with an angelic smile, and said "Don't worry Mommy, the clouds are just leaking." Before we could walk a half a block, it had stopped all rain activity. LOL And it did not rain anymore until morning!!!

I remember dooking for apples with my dad when i was a kid. He would fill up a basin with water and the 6 of us would sit round and have out turn. If you were anywhere close to getting the apple with your teeth he would dunk your head in to help you .
Everyone always ended up soaked and it was always so funny.

Halloween at college was best memories, our group always went way out with makeup and costumes and some hellacious parties. We also like to walk around in big trenchcoats pretending to be flashers, but when we flashed we had a sign under the coat saying "You wish you could see it!"

I think it would have to be the first halloween when my family moved to Alaska....I didn't think we would get any candy because we had to wear snow suits over our costumes!! My mom drove us all over and watched us from the car. It is one of my sweetest memories with my sister - we were young enough that she held my hand when we walked to the door - the years before the older sibling is too cool to have you around. I guess all of those are special memories for me.

I can't remember from a kid but with my kids and since 1969 we have had a monster sitting in a chair on the front porch. He holds a tray with the candy on it and the kids take their own candy BUT he also has a mechanical hand which is moving. It is fun to watch the reaction of the kids to "George".
When we first started putting him out the boy across the street was about 2 years old ( he is now married), we told him it was George's birthday and he would sing happy birthday to him.
One year my son sat in the chair and the kids didn't know whether "George" was alive!!!! He never scared the little ones but when the older kids would go to take the candy he would move or say something.
