I really want to be an outdoorsy sort of girl, but I live in rural Virginia, and truth be told, I feel like I am camping even inside of my house. The cat brought inside a yellow canary (??) today, a bunny yesterday, a lizard last week and God only knows what I don't know about! Please . . . get me a condo, as high up as possible.

that is hysterical, Molly! We live in a top floor condo and let me tell you, our kitties wuold be so jealous...they sit at the windows and watch the birds all day long. Alan has started bringing moths inside just so they have something to chase! LOL

I like comfort...no creepy-crawlies, no rocks under the sleeping bag; I want a bed, and a soft pillow, and the biggest must-indoor plumbing! I could probably do without electricity (if I absolutely HAD to) but running water is a must! I'm not much of a camper, can you tell?!?

When kids were little we took 2 neighbor girls to help watch our 3 and 5 yr olds. We tented and went to NY, Acadia in Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island back to Maine and Niagra Falls and then home. LOL
Now just give me all the comforts of home and eat outs LOL

For years we roughed it in a tent and I loved it. Now the kids are grown, I am getting old, and that idea does not appeal as much.
For my honeymoon we went camping. My husband secretly built a huge bed in the woods it took up practically the whole tent! BUT it was the MOST comfortable bed I ever slept in! Yes he also took a mattress along lol. If I had that bed again maybe a tent would be just fine!!
But he is gone now and I would opt for something more comforting in my old age LOL.... oh I sooooooo miss camping in the mountains in Montana.. *sigh*

I went camping twice in my life. Both were disasters. Ended up sleeping in a car both times. On one trip I stubbed my toe, cut my heel on a can tab and stepped in a hole filled with hot water and burned my foot. No more camping for me. I'll camp out at the Hilton.

But since thats just not likely, lol, I do have to say there is nothing better than getting out of town into the middle of nowhere and escaping the noise, traffic, pollution etc. Roasting marshmallows around a campfire and early moring fishing. Gotta LOVE IT!!!

If I was to go camping definitly has to be a Trailer/Cottage, to old to run from Bears and snakes and Jason lol.
