Yes the contest is over, I'm too late to enter, but I still feel the need to add my input! Will probably go entirely unheard, but I don't mind...
I put the roll on one way or the other, not noticing which it is - over or under.... but the first time it should happen to spin unstoppingly, creating a folded pile of tissue on the floor underneath the roll, is the moment I waste no time in taking it back off the spindle and flipping it to the proper position
before putting it back on!
That's the only thing that bugs me about this whole issue, is that SPIN, that it can only do one way or the other, I think over, but I've never noticed really which it is, over or under, I just know it's one or the other, and if I get it back on the spindle the way that it's gonna do that spin, piling up the folded paper beneath on the floor, that's when I know I have it on wrong... otherwise, I wouldn't know. Never have connected which one does that and which doesn't. Just as easy to just switch it if it's on wrong.
Funnily enough, that's pretty much the same principle I use when I'm driving, and dealing with my usual LOUSY sense of direction. When I come to a turn, say, and have to choose left or right, I never know which way I'm supposed to go, and for me, for some reason, it is A LOT more work for me to figure it out than it is for most people, and so instead of struggling to make the right decision, I just pick one or the other, randomly (or where ever the traffic is lightest) and proceed that direction, keeping my eye on the streetsigns as I go, (because I don't have any trouble remembering the order our streets are in), and as soon as I see that I'm going the wrong way by the order of the streets I'm crossing, then it's SO simple - I just turn around --- and go back the other way -- which is always gonna be the right way if I've already figured out I was going the wrong way before, right? Or just continue on the way I'm going, if I see by the streets that I'm heading the right way already (in other words, that I made a lucky guess that time when i chose left or right!)
Soooo much simpler than trying to figure it out every time - or ANY time almost! -- for me anyway! I think some part of my brain - whatever part it is that handles that kinda thing - is slightly DEFECTIVE!
But I dont' mind much now that I know how to handle it with so little effort on my part now!
Anyway, what was the question again?
If the topic was anything other than my lousy sense of direction, then I think I'm meandering off topic and I better pay attention to what street's coming up next, so I'll know how to get back headed in the right direction here real soon, right?
You know, I just figured since this contest is already over, that I probably don't even really have to worry about anyone reading this post of mine, so I can ramble all over the place if I want to, and I guess that pretty much covered it!
THANKS AGAIN
