Seems like all I did as a kid was read, read, read - anything and everything. I had all the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books and I loved Pippi Longstocking. When we went to my Grandma's house, there never were any books that I wanted to read, but she always had stacks and stacks of the National Enquirer, so I read those all night long. Very educating, you know.
I do remember a toy called a Lemon Twist, I think. It was a plastic lemon on the end of a black plastic thing that you put around your ankle and then twirled it round and round, skipping over the lemon each round...I remember playing Lemon Twist on our driveway, while my sister jumped rope, and her friend Hula Hooped. I would count how many jumps over the lemon I got, and the number always got so high I lost track and had to start over - cannot imagine how I found that so entertaining!
And then when Atari came out, that's all I ever did for awhile. First Pong, then Space Invaders, then Adventure like Dungeons and Dragons sort of, and finally came PacMan, and lots more in between. Played a lot of video games.
But if I go WAY WAY back, I remember I had this little stuffed elephant, orange for some reason, and he was musical - you wind him up, and he plays Braham's Lullaby - I can still hum that tune from listening to that elephant play it.
Thanks again!

Oh my gosh! LOL This is really soooo true too.
My favorite toy growing up was any doll with very long hair.
Only because I wanted to be a hair dresser and I would actually start cutting the dolls hair little by little until there was no more hair to cut on(bald ) head. My Mom spent sooo much money on dolls. I did attend school later on in life for hair but ended up being a Mental Health Prof.
Go figure , LOL
