The one thing that is a given here for Christmas is dinner..... steak done on the grill, swiss scalloped potatoes, a veggie and fruit salad, simple to make & just a little prep time and then relax and visit with friends and relatives until dinner is ready.

We give the grandkids either an ornament or figurine of Santa. This year 4 of them took a trip to Europe. We managed to find Santa and the Eifel tower, Santa and the leaning Tower, a German Santa sitting on a keg and and Irish Santa and for the youngest one who is into skate boarding , we found Santa on a skate board. We started this when the oldest, who is now 29, was 3 years old.

One of our traditions started when my daughter started school. Every day that she was out of school before Chrsitmas she got to open one of her stocking stuffers. This continued til she graduated. Now my grandson stays with us during his time off for the Holidays and gets to follow in his Mom's tradition.

we have Christmas lunch with a great number of relatives. This is the only tradition. About 30 people for lunch

When my kids were small I used to take them to see the Christmas lights on Christmas Eve. It always seemed Santa showed up when we were gone. The kids would open their presents on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas we would have a nice dinner.
They are grown and gone now and I don't follow them anymore.

Hello Crushers!!!
My family is so small now but we still carry on our family tradition, ham and baked beans on Christmas Eve, we open all of our gifts and then Santa comes during the night for the kids to wake up to see what he brought.
Everyone that made a post had their names placed into my tupperware bowl. Barry drew out the winning name.
