my tradtion has been to have friends over Christmas eve to open presents.

We used to have a tradition of driving around on Christmas Eve to look at all the lights. Then when we came home Santa had mysteriously been to the house and left a bunch of gifts while we were gone. Then all the kids could open presents. (let's the parents sleep in a little in the morning) Loved this tradition.
Now we just mostly gather on Christmas Eve with grandparents and open presents from them. At home the grandkids open their presents on Christmas Day.

Our Christmas depends on when everyone can get together but one thing is constant and that's dinner. I firmly believe that Christmas should be spent with family, not in the kitchen so dinner is simple. Steaks done on the grill with scalloped potatoes and a salad.

Thank you all for sharing with us your family traditions!!!
As I've mentioned before my family always gets together Christmas Eve to open presents, then in the morning Santa has been there and the day is spent just for the kids. 
Everyone that made a post had their names placed into my tupperware bowl and my lovely assistant Barry lol (he hates that lol) drew out the winning name.
