April 2015 All Things Baseball Contest..winners

If you've never heard of the Garbanks brothers, don't feel bad: 99.9% of fans haven't either. In 1944, the brothers who would go down in history were Bob and Mike Garbank.
Mike played for the Yankees while Bob played for the Athletics, Mike played in over 80 games while Bob only got in 17, yet both posted a respectable .261 batting average.
The odd occurrences don't stop there; they were both catchers in the American League, and the both threw out 39% of would-be base stealers in their careers!
Oh, and did I mention they almost had the same number of games played for their careers?

Swallows at Mission San Juan Capistrano....The miracle of the “Swallows” of Capistrano takes place each year at Mission San Juan Capistrano, on March 19th... the miracle is they return in mass and create new nests each and every year and stay until October...absolutely amazing, I've been priveleged to witness this as a child!
