Ecocard application asks for a Swift Code.What is it?

The SWIFT address is an 8 or 11 alphanumeric characters long ...
also known as BIC (=Bank Identifier Code). ...

If you do online banking it usually shows it at the very bottom of your statement page.

sorry, something i didn't add was...

well from my limited experience of 3 different UK banks is that you just call customer services and ask them and they might give you a number of the relevant dept that can assit or they'll be able to tell you

most know the different terms for whatever they/you will call it and can give you the relevant info over the phone

not necessary, routing numbers are within the usa swift numbers are international codes, some banks may not require them. i checked with all my banks and accounts, one bank teller told me that it was the same and my transfer never worked, when i called support they said absolutely not, swift codes are different and each bank has one, problem is most bank employees don't even know what a swift code is.... best thing to do is call cs at your bank and see if you can talk to the wire transfer dept..... if it is a small home town bank they might not have one of these depts.... however if you can find the swift code you are better off......

we had the same thoughts geno...LOL...

as i said most bank tellers or employees or even customer service reps might not know about this cause most of them do not deal with it.... i do know us bank in the usa has a manager at each branch who does nothing but wire transfers......

here is what one of my banks require....

Incoming Payments
If you are receiving an international wire transfer payment, you will need to:
Provide the sender your name as it appears on your account
Provide your account number and the U.S. Bank SWIFT code. The U.S. Bank SWIFT code for receiving wire transfer payments is USBKUS44IMT***.

swift codes have a combo of letters and numbers....
