Your Favorite President Contest

During the month of February, we celebrate the Birthdays of two very important American Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. President's Day is a celebration of both George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's Birthdays. The Holiday is celebrated on the third Monday of February.

Crushers, now that I've given my little history lesson, please tell me who is your favorite President and why? Remember to also post a banner!

OK well this may be a bit of an unusual answer, to say the least, and most definitely a unique one (especially considering that I'm a Democrat) as I may very well be the only one to pick this person for my favorite President...

Nonetheless, I'm gonna have to go with Ronald Reagan as my answer for but a single reason.

Now before I tell that reason let me say that... I know he didn't always do what most, myself included, would consider to be a good decision. But the one thing he did which, I believe, outweighs and far surpasses all and any of the not-so-favorable things he might have done is the very thing that has earned my utmost respect for the man.

What is that thing, you ask? Well, I'll tell you:

It is, in cooperation with Mikhail Gorbechov and through several years of communications with each other, Reagan's committed efforts (and eventual achievement) in bringing the Cold War to a grinding halt - An act which led up to and essentially lended a hand in the tearing down of the Berlin Wall; and ultimately, the fall of the Iron Curtain - that I find so noteworthy.
It is the single most honorable move for our government to make in recent years, if not decades.

And as if the humanity of it, for those previously living under the supression of the Iron Fist wasn't enough, it has also lain the path to some of the most groundbreaking and signifcant advancements towards modern-day technology, space exploration, and, for that matter, world peace that mankind may ever have witnessed with the agreement between Soviet and US governments to combine our scientific knowledge and research.
All of these, a great many series of events which I strongly believe would never have come to pass had it not been for the great lengths made in breaking the barrier between nations by these two noble and determined men.

My favorite president is Bill Clinton.

well i dont have a favorite president, as far as i am concerned i do have a least favorite.......BUSH! sorry for thoses which are content with him.... i think i said enough

I'm not american, but i studied and love history, so i can say that my favourite president is John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
I remember his wonderful words: ""My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man".

my favorite would be Bill Clinton , I guess the reason would be because of his bad boy image(lol)

My favorite president would be John F. Kennedy. He was so young and vibrant. What a shame that he was killed during his term of office.

I think back to my childhood and remember being sick the day this man was inaugurated. I don't know that he is my favorite, but he brings back memories.

Well after reading what skj1191 had to say i almost changed my mind, as i must agree with the points made.

after contemplating this question for a considerable amount of time plus a long discussion with my better half of the past eleven years, I must stay with my first thought...Jimmy Carter.

Now now stop all that laughing out there. My reasons for this are not so much based on what he did when he was the President, but more on what he has done since leaving office.

President Carter, after leaving office, spends a great deal time with Habitat for Humanity International, an organization that works worldwide to provide housing for underprivileged people.. and he has always pushed for human rights worldwide.

And for these simple reasons is way i choose President Jimmy Carter as my favorite President

This may sound crazy, but it is Clinton. My financial situation was great with him. The important part is his strength. He stood up to a lot of pressure, sure he made a mistake, but he didn't do anything any other powerful man hasn't done, he just got caught....

My Favorite President is the current president George W Bush!!!!!! I think he is absolutely wonderful, and as for all of those who critize him because of his imperfect speeches, to me that makes him more human, I think you can tell a lot about a person just by the look in their eyes, and i think George Bush is genuine. And if he can really cut the deficet in half by the end of this term that would be INCREDIBLE!!!!!
