Hello Crushers!

Crushers, please tell us ... about your 1st real paying job, (working for a company) where/what was it?

I started working for a doctor, cleaning his home and office and within a month was his secretary. I was 14 and he paid me $1.25 per hour which was fantastic. (I gave up my weekly babysitting job that I had for 3 years. I babysit 5 kids for 5 hours for $1.25 a week ... that's total not per hour. LOL

My first real paying job was for my doctor. I would work after school and weekends to filing and tidying up her office. It was so long ago I forget how much I got paid.. but I do remember babysitting for .75/hour as well and I remember when I asked the lady for a raise to $1. per hour she got mad and yelled at me... WITCH !

When I was a Sr. in high school, I had a job in an an apparel factory (I.E. sweatshop) sewing sweater inseams. It was a minimun pay job, but I moved out on my own within 3 months of gettign the job!

My first job was working at the Post Office.Pay was fantasic back then.Almost $3 an hour.Too bad it was only 16 hours a week.

My first paying job was as a temp position at the Paris ( a local clothes department store) where I did pricing on clothes to put on the floor.

My real first paying permanant job was as a beautician. I went right into Beauty School when I got out of high school. I did that job over 25 years and had a great following.

My first job was in a Saltfish factory as a 14 year old vent there in the summer holiday and asked if i could get some work surely enough i got 4 hours a day for the hole summer can't remember the pay but i remember it being a lot for a lil kid who finally had some money without having to ask mom or dad for it

I can't remember the salary I got but I worked at an Islay's store which sold Ice cream amoung other things. Went from there to running a Country Club snack bar at the swimming pool and then retired 10 years ago after being a nurse for 40 years.

I was a dishwasher at the Kahler Motel, then quickly became Houseboy.....was great at the room service! LOL

when I was 16 I worked at a daycare center. It was great since that was back when I had patience with children. lol

I was 17 years old and a Senior in high school and my first job was a cashier at Hardee's. I hated that damn job!! I can't believe I stayed there for a year...but someone had to pay for essentials I needed for school. (i.e.: lunch, transportation, yearbook, cap & gown...).

my first job was when i was 16, telemarketing.I was calling people and trying to sale them a gym membership.I only got min. wage i think back than it was 3.35 an hour.I didn't have to work ,cause my parents always gave me money.i wanted to work.it was fun but hard to get people to sign up.it only lasted about 1 1/2 years.ty.gle1

My very first job was a house cleaning job, I got paid 10.00 per hour. This was pretty incredible as this was in 1972

my first job was setting tobacco, hot and dirty. the pay was crepe, we always got paid when the tobacco sold and it was never what we thought it should be lol

My first job was a delivery boy for a chemist.

The pay was really good and riding the push bike was also good exercise.

My first real paying job wwas at my aunts estitician/masseuse parlor, or office.I answered the phones and scheduled appointments.It was in honolulu,and i think i was getting like 6.00$ an hour.This was back in 1995.
