September 2010 Tell Us About Contest...1/winner Announced

it was thanks giving and we where clearing the table the only thing left on the table was the platter of turkey all our backs where to the table when we turned around my puppy was on his back legs with the edge of the turkey leg in his mouth caught him just in time before the turkey ended up on the floor

OMG my 2 cats were playing chase through the house. Yes most cats do that but there is a catch. When they ran through the room the lead cat had the handle of a plastic bag around his neck, when they ran back through, not 1 minute later the other cat had the bag. I am not sure how they did it but it was the funniest and strangest thing I ever saw.

Oh my... so many funny memories! So many animals...

Well I will pick one of the cute ones. We had a small cocker/something mix. The kids named her Buffy because she instead of barking would kind of make a buff sound and blow her cheeks out with air LOL anyway...

She would get all excited at Christmas and birthdays because she LOVED opening presents!!! When we gave out the presents she always got hers wrapped just like everyone elses. When we told her to go she would start tearing the wrapper off all her presents just as excited as the kids. Her tail wagging and her eyes all sparkling excited. It was so adorable and funny!

One Christmas though she couldn't wait and we came to the tree the next morning and found all the presents unwrapped!! She knew she was a bad girl but we didn't have the heart to scold. She really never did it again on her own ROFL.

Like Val, there are so many memories of funny things done by our animals, but one that stands out is my Majic Cat, who loved peppermint! Friends were at the house and we were playing cards at the table. Susie had put her purse on the floor and I saw Majic sniffing all around it. Then he started to unzip the zipper and stuck his nose inside. I asked Susie if she had any peppermint candy in the purse and she said "no...... oh but I do have peppermint gum." She found it and put it on the table and Majic sat there and looked up as if to say "well, are you going to give me some or not?" We all laughed and laughed!

LOL - I had a rather smart cat about 15 years ago
Among things like being able to open a closed bathroom door
by getting on tub and putting her paws around the door knob
Or Awakening from a deep sleep to attack me if I opened a package
of Cream Cheese two rooms away from where she was
I think the funniest thing was when our neighborhood had a water bug invasion ...
She would run and turn them on their backs , then run back to me and then run and turn them onto their legs..
This continued for hours every night - LOL

I have so many I could go on for hours but I have to tell one about my mothers dog. She had a black lab that was super smart.

She was kind of getting freaked out though because she would mention something she wanted and the dog would bring it back to her from where she didn't know. It was a thief! LOL I know animals are supposed to be color blind and on top of that they can't speak or understand english ( besides basic command sounds) but what freaked my mother out was she was telling me she wished she had a pink bathroom rug for the laundry room.

Later that day her black lab was bringing home a pink bathroom mat. This is the kind of things that freaked my mother out! LOL Other than being a thief it was a very very smart dog!

One of the funniest things that my Prince (he's a Boxer dog) has done was his first " Boxer Burn"!

The first month we had him in our house, he started running around the dining room table about 30 times while we were playing with him. (Sometimes he runs back and forth down the hallway.) I started laughing so hard because I've never seen a dog do anything quite like that before! I still laugh when he does it!! I'm sure there'll be plenty of more boxer burns for his upcoming birthday (He'll be 3 years old on September 18th!)

However, the thing that my former dog Zsa Zsa did (she was a toy poodle and passed away in May of 1995) totally beats out Prince's boxer burns! One time (I think I was in the 8th or 9th grade), I was doing a ballerina tip-toe twirl. When I looked down, Zsa Zsa was doing the same thing!! I could not believe it!! I wish could have had it on camcorder because that was a 'once-in-a-lifetime' moment!

Just the other day one of my cats was playing in a plastic grocery bag and the handle got caught around her middle. She was running and flipping and trying every which way to get it off. It was hilarious til I felt sorry for her and chased her down to remove it. I have always thought cats are the most comical of any pet.

LOL some very nice stories, unfortunately none to tell as only got a hamster at moment and all the dogs i had were just normal and never done anything unusual, could make something up but no point LOL

The other day there were 3 squirrels sitting on my patio, and they were talking back and forth using real words.....then my puppy Angus looked up at me and said" Oh my Dad, I can't believe those squirrels are really talking in English, no one is going to believe this!"
