PostPosted: Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:29 pm    No More Neteller Debit Card Usage - Draw funds by May 2nd 07 Reply with quoteBack to top

Hi there all,

This is obviously of no interest to USA members as Neteller is not an option any longer so you can ignore this, however those still using Neteller may want to read this (I haven't yet been able to clarify that it's 100% correct).

Update: This is definitely 100% correct and genuine. You can read this on the Neteller press release area:-

http://content.neteller.com/content/en/member_businessupdate_netellercard.htm

Anyways, what it advises is that

NO MORE WITHDRAWING TO NETELLER DEBIT CARDS - WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT (although I could still get this option when in Neteller)

NO MORE USAGE OF THE DEBIT CARD FROM MAY 2ND 2007.

I'm not really sure how genuine this email is, but I would exercise some caution and withdraw any remaining funds on your Debit Card balances ASAP and wait to see what happens on Neteller.

There was no information like this on the site, so I'm hoping this was a hoax. If true, this email was perhaps planned not for my receipt so early lol.

Below is a copy of the full email I received..

Quote:
Dear NETELLER Merchant,

In an ongoing effort to keep you informed, we would like to let you know that the third-party provider for the NETELLER Card has very recently advised that under the rules relating to the Cirrus/Maestro Network, it can no longer support those branded cards. Consequently, members with NETELLER Cards will be affected. This should not affect you as a NETELLER merchant.

Important dates

Effective immediately, members will not be able to withdraw funds from their e-wallet to their NETELLER Card. They will, however, have until May 2, 2007 to use the funds that are presently on their Cards.

We will be sending out an email to all NETELLER Card holders encouraging them to use the funds on their Cards before this date. After May 2, we will credit remaining funds on their cards back to their NETELLER e-wallets.

We regret any inconvenience and are working hard to provide new card services as quickly as possible. Should you have any questions, please contact NETELLER Merchant Business Development, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you for choosing NETELLER.

Well I for one would contact Neteller themselves and Quote the email asking them to verify the information. I would want to hear it directly from Neteller myself. Who did the email come from Neteller or a 3rd Party? If the latter I would strongly question it's validity.

But since I only have 11 cents in my Neteller account and can't use it any longer (being USA) I don't have to worry about it LOL

I got it too Sad

This is the emil i received

Dear xxxxxxxx (my correct name and surname),

The third-party provider for the NETELLER Card has very recently advised that under the rules relating to the Cirrus/Maestro Network, it can no longer support those branded cards. This affects your NETELLER Card.

Important dates

Effective immediately, you will not be able to withdraw funds from your e-wallet to your NETELLER Card. However, you will have until May 2, 2007 to use the funds that are already on your Card.

To avoid possible inconvenience, we highly recommend you use all of the existing funds on your Card before this date. After that time, we will credit remaining funds back to your NETELLER e-wallet. This may take several business days, but we assure you that your funds continue to be safe and secure.

Other withdrawal options

In the interim, you will continue to have access to the following withdrawal options based on your country of residence:

Cheque
Bank transfer
Member wire

Please sign in to your account to see which withdrawal options are available to you.

We regret any inconvenience and are working hard to provide new card services to you as quickly as possible. Should you have any questions regarding this change, please contact our Customer Service Team, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you for choosing NETELLER.

Hi all,

Yes it came from Neteller but I haven't yet confirmed it with them (just haven't had time to wait for Live Chat yet)..

If someone else can - I'd *really* appreciate it wink wink

Cheers,
Geno

Dear all,

This is definitely 100% correct. I received a call from Neteller confirming so.

Also, it is now posted at the below link on Neteller

http://content.neteller.com/content/en/member_businessupdate_netellercard.htm

You can get their from the main Neteller site and clicking on either of the Member Update links (USA or Canadian member update - even though this applies to all).

Note Canadian members still have an option to use Neteller Debit Card and withdraw to it but only using the Interac network and only in Canada.

The full press release is quoted below:-

Quote:

NETELLER Member Update - The NETELLER Card
Did NETELLER stop allowing members to withdraw funds to their NETELLER Card?
Yes. Effective April 26, 2007, NETELLER members are no longer able to move funds from their NETELLER e-wallet to their NETELLER Card.

Why did NETELLER make this change?
The third-party provider for the NETELLER Card has very recently advised that under the rules relating to the Cirrus/Maestro Network, it can no longer support those branded cards, including the NETELLER Card.

Can I still use funds that are already on my NETELLER Card?
Yes. You can still use the funds that are already on your NETELLER Card until May 2, 2007.

What happens to the funds on my NETELLER Card if I don’t spend them by May 2, 2007?
If you do not spend all of the funds on your NETELLER Card by May 2, we will credit the remaining funds back to your NETELLER e-wallet. This process may take several business days, so we recommend that you try to use your funds by this date.

What other withdrawal options are available?
Depending on your country of residence, you will be able to make withdrawals by cheque, bank transfer or member wire. Please sign in to your account to see which withdrawal options are available to you.

Did NETELLER send an email to members that was intended for merchants?
Yes, NETELLER sent a merchant notification email to some of our members. We regret the inconvenience and misunderstanding.

Has my NETELLER Card service changed if I am from Canada?
Canadian members can still use their NETELLER Card, but only on the Interac network and only in Canada. You can no longer use your NETELLER Card on the Cirrus network or outside of Canada.

Who can I contact for assistance?
If your question has not be answered by this FAQ or if you require further assistance, please contact NETELLER Customer Service.
