Crushers, please tell us ... What is your favorite hobby and why? (past, present or future hobby)

Before computers, it was "Trying to stay out of trouble". That was a hobby in itself.

I don't think I really had a hobby as a child. Between going to school, working 40 hours a week at age 14, and sleeping, I didn't have time for a hobby.

After I joined the Navy, my hobby was building and repairing computers. That's what I do most of the time, usually for the learning experience.

Other hobbies in the past. Drinking (I mean a whole lot of drinking).

I have several but the one I loved and enjoyed most was oil painting. Even sold a couple. But sadly, I haven't done it for years.

My second one is writing. Even as a child a nice sharp new pencil and a blank piece of paper would get my juicing going and my fingers itch to fill that page up. Smile

I do this sporatically now as my time is split so many ways.

Third I love reading. Mostly mysteries and detective type stories, though I do have to admit to loving brain lazy Romance novels periodically. I really love novels written about the 1800 era, Old English type. One of my favorites is Jane Eyre, though that is even an earlier era.

Of course then Computers were discovered and I got wired to my computer.

ROFL

And last but not least is just going out in nature and soaking up the pure air and nature itself. I am also an avid fisherwoman. First one in the water, last one out waiting for that BIG one! I can't do this nearly enough.

Well, i used to have a car i spent a lot of time and money making it look good, but that all ended in tears,

As for now, i do have a website which i could say is a hobby when i feel energetic enough to do it, it also take quite a bit of brain power from me because i don't understand it enough, but its rewarding when i do something i've just learned

When I was younger, it was sports...hockey, karate, running....
then when I got married and started having kids it became reading, writing and drawing.
Now that my kids are older (well, 7, 8, 10), we are collecting coins together. I think I am enjoying it as much as the kids actually...
And when the kids are at their Dads, it has to be a book, a drink, and a gamble online....surprised noone here has given that answer yet LOL. Although I guess it kinda goes without saying....hehe

Well, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my son. He is 6, which doesn't give me much time to take up hobbies. I do enjoy garden, crafting, singing and dancing (when time allows) especially when a nice glass of wine is involved. Oh wait...maybe that is my hobby...drinking! Haha!

I've been doing stained glass windows/sun catchers for a few years, I really enjoy it but it takes a lot of time and space to work on them. So I recently started making jewelry: necklaces, bracelets etc. It's much easier time/space wise and I can find anything and everything I need on Ebay at great prices. Now friends and family are giving me tons of old/broken/bored with jewelry that I can add to my supplies and they get new different custom pieces back. I've got enough material to last me for years and I'm recycling too !

when I have down time, my hobby is plastic canvas needlework. I love making my own designs for useful items.

Favorate hobby hanging with my man. I even miss him when he's at work. I hate it and it sucks but its the truth. I need to be more busy huh? Ain't love grand? Also my boring self loves animals way to much but my cat Ren thinks he's neglected. He comes everytime I call him and will literally be-o-tch if I remove his furry butt from my lap before he is ready. He likes to keep a paw on my lap like we're lovers but he is so polite I have to invite him like he's a vampire or something before he will snuggle etc. Everybody wants my cat.. Hes just swave' and debonair.

Been a few, but I LOVE going to the Lake with my best friend/ his daughter and all the dogs and friends that want to join!!

He used to have a little four-seater boat- it was so fun!! Just kicking it with a bonfire- loud music and no rules- let 'em play!!

Well, other than spending way too much time here (is that possible? lol) I love to read.. I will read just about anything. And I especially like to read in the bath.. sounds odd, but with 3 kids, I don't get much time to myself, but if given the chance, I will lock myself in the bathroom and take a hot bath and read a book til I wrinkle. Also, I like playing cards and of course, gambling.. the list of hobbies that I would like to be able to pursue is longer, but this pretty much sums it up. Oh yea, and I like to talk, hehe.

I love to read - usually its some author I find I like and then I read everything I can get my hands on that they have ever written! And, I love to go driving around exploring with Alan, stop at roadside stuff and just hang around...that has got to be my favorite! And sometimes I go through these golf phases in which I never play 5 pars but I have a great time and I am only out there to have some fun with Alan anyways!
